James K. Boyce is professor of economics at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and director of the environment program at the Political Economy Research Institute. His books include Reclaiming Nature: Environmental Justice and Ecological Restoration (Anthem Press, 2007); Natural Assets: Democratizing Environmental Ownership (Island Press, 2003); and The Political Economy of the Environment (Edward Elgar, 2002). He is the 2011 recipient of the Fair Sharing of the Common Heritage Award.
