Light in april describes the mixed feelings that arise when one visits New Orleans: a sort of elation in front of the extraordinary vitality that emanates from the city and at the same time a sadness, a feeling of resignation that is close to despair. The film is a hommage to the dignity, the sense of humour, the intelligence, the humanity of these people faced day after day with murder and corruption and racism.
