This documentary takes place during the two World Wars and the first Indochina War. The story of the Goums however starts at the begining of the French protectorate in Morocco. Recruited mainly in the berber regions of Morocco, the Goums were used as colonial troops during what the French called the "peacemaking" period, where everytime tribes were submissed, former ennemies became new allies.
