He was trained at Young Talents Workshop (Ethiopia, Nigeria, South Africa) in February 2009, within Institut Imagine (Gaston Kaboré, Ouaga, Burkina Faso).

He is married to Birtukan Befekadu (ብርቱካን በፍቃዱ), the Lead Actress of his 1st feature narrative NISHAN. She won the Best Actress Award, at 2nd Colours of the Nile International Film Festival (CONIFF 2014, Addis Ababa), for NISHAN.
