Afrique du Sud, post-apartheid. Wonderboy, un petit garçon de 11 ans tente de survivre dans les rues infestées par le crime de Johannesburg. Kobus, ancien soldat de l'armée de l'apartheid, ne peut pas oublier "le bon vieux temps", quand il était quelqu'un - un homme connu pour son courage. Maintenant il espère que quelque chose redonnera du sens à sa vie.
