Réalisateur et artiste plasticien égyptien.

Né en 1977 à Assiut, en Egypte, Basim MAGDY a une Licence en peinture de l'Université d'Helwan (Faculté des Beaux Arts), même si son environnement l'a plus construit que sa formation. Il mélange plusieurs types d'arts dans son travail, tels la peinture, les installations, l'animation et la sculpture. Il est particulièrement investi dans la création de structures narratives qui explorent l'espace entre la réalité et la fiction.
