Increasing the audience of African movies and broadcast in Colombia. Making known and visible the writing, direction and production about the histories made by Africans and Africans descendants. In response to the constantly demand of <<African made>> content, requested by African descendant public. This festival brings to the competition African movies and its diaspora movies, whereby a professional jury will judge all the activities presented by people. The QAFF is in search of recognizing through the exploration of an unknown land. QAFF is a point of convergence of numerous afro communities in the world, likewise is a space to discover new talents. We need our own narrative, with a perspective of who we are and what we are. We are narrative beings. Our past lives, present and future are narratives. Correspondingly we have been oppressed by global narratives, and we can be set free by them. This festival is the opportunity for the community to make their everyday life a narrative. Quibdó is the capital town in department of Chocó, one of the most important populations in the Pacific region of Colombia, in the same way the Pacific region has most of the percentage of biodiversity in Colombia, in addition Chocó could be the place with most rainfall in the world. Quibdó is the epicenter of many ethnic and cultural diverse expressions to the presence of black people, descendant of Africans that were brought to the territory being enslaved. The dominant group of people (ethnicity) in the city are the African descendant with a percentage of 87,5%, followed by indigene community.
